    DM500s audio problem

I got 2 DM500s a few weeks back and am still learning about them.

I have been trying to get the Sky EPG to work and both were having the same problem so I flashed 1 from DK1.1 to Gemini v4.6 (no Bomb). When it came back up there was a strange audio problem - like it was running slow and had lost all the higher frequencies although it was in Lip Sync through the AMP to the TV.

I still couldn't get the EPG to work so I flashed it back to DK1.1 but the problem remains. I did a factory reset and tried it again but it is still there.

Although I don't believe in coincidences I'm starting to suspect that a hardware problem has occurred after putting Gemini on it.

Any suggestions or clues are most welcome?

Go into system setup and then disable 'fast zapping'.

This problem only seems to occur on the dm500 and it usually manifests itself by everyone on your dreambox talking with 'slow Southern drawl'. I have cured it by going into depending on the image Setup > OSD options > unticking 'fast zapping'. I am not sure what the connection is between disabling 'fast zapping' and audio except that the dm500 does not have the same amount of RAM as the newer boxes so maybe the box is compensating by removing resources from one area to give to another area. There is nothing I enjoy more and the wife hate more is for me to quickly flick through all the channels whilst the ads are showing but maybe disabling fast zapping may slow the channel flicking.

That is exactly what it sounded like.
I powered it down for about an hour and it was OK when rebooted so it could be temperature related but it wasn't hot. I have disabled fast-zapping anyway so thanks for the advice.
