DM500S Successful JTAG, but cannot connect via dreamup.

    Hi all.
After a lot of reading, head scratching and swearing, I got my DM500 jtagged successfully. It recognised the corrupted bootloader, and flashed itself without problem.
My problem is, I cannot, and never have been able to connect via the rs232/null modem cable, and therefore, cannot flash an image into the box. When I got the box, it would not connect.
    I have tried:
Four different versions of dreamup, including the patched one.
    Three computers 2 pc's 1 laptop with usb/serial adaptor.
Every com port available to me on any of those machines.
Two different null modem cables, both brand new.
I have also tried FTP'ing into the box, but as yet, it does not connect via IP. Ditto any other means of connecting via IP, telnet/http.

Where am I going wrong, is there any other way of connecting?
Is it possible to flash an image using jtag, or any other flashing tool, or shall I go and buy another null modem cable, and try all the various com ports/computers/cables/adaptors again?
Has anybody else ever had a DM500 that wouldn't connect via rs232? I have had the box apart, and checked the null modem cables from pc to the PCB in the DM500 using a meter. All are ok. The rs232 socket is fine, the plug is in the board properly etc.

    Thanks in advance

Apologies mods, posted this in the wrong section.

        Did you try-ed this:
First i run jtagdb500.exe with -X parameter (to erase flash), and after erasing run jtagdb500 do write new bootblock.
After erasing and new bootblock programming i flashed DB500 by DreamUp and null-modem cable without any problem.
        Now it works

          The box got binned.
It never connected using the null modem cable, and neither does another one I had from the same seller. I guess it was a faulty batch?

I buy all my DM500s's from Espow and have had 2 or 3 like this... To be fair any time it happens I contact them and they exchange it for me no problem... You could try going back to your seller?
