    Which is Best External HDD?

Hi, I've loaded USB Loader etc, but it won't recognise my HDD. I've managed to install a game to a USB, so i think it's my drive that wont work. it's a samsung S2 Portable 3 1TB.

Is it the drive that is at fault?

If so, what drives can you recommend that work, I'm after a 1TB, preferably usb powered.

    Thanks

Before we say its the drive at fault now you've made your first post you should be able to download sysCheck19 and post a report as instructed in that link so I can see which IOS's you have installed.

As I've just said in another thread not all USB powered drive work I've read they lag when loading games because the USB port can't supply enough power. I would have thought a 1TB drive is going to need more power.

I use a 1TB FreeAgent? GoFlex***8482; Desk External Hard Drive and it works perfectly.

You can browse the suitable drives to read which work.

Ok that sysCheck doesn't look to bad apart from you don't have all the d2x v8.0 final wad pack installed.

If you want to remove the IOS16 stub download my cIOS16-v257.zip and add that wad to the wad folder and install it with MMM. This wad isn't really critical to your problem. I think your problem is finding a suitable drive to add your games too.

              Does this all look correct?

The drive does not still work as expected. I will update when I get a new drive.

However, I have two USB Loader GX channels, could this be causing a conflict?

Thanks again for your help and patience.

Finnally that sysCheck looks ok even though there is loads of spaces and the IOS's at the bottom ar all mixed up, don't you use WordPad as suggested?

I don't know why you have 2 USB Loader GX channels whether you installed two different versions. I updated my USB Loader GX channel last week but I removed the old channel in Wii Channels first. Even if you did have 2 channels I wouldn't have thought that would have conflicted with anything as you can only click one channel at once.

The channels are similar to the saved games when you click on one there is a number at the top middle (USB Loader GX 24) that shows how many memory blocks that channel/saved game takes to store. Down on the bottom right is the number of free blocks open. When the blocks get low you have to move the saved games you don't use to the SD card.

How are you added these games to the drive?

                  Hi,

I think it must be an install issue. I've got a 1tb seagate goflex desktop and it's still playing up. It still will not recognise this hdd. I've managed to see the drive in wiiflow but the games freeze.

Well I don't see anything wrong with that sysCheck, do all games freeze or just some?

Your another one thats showing Homebrew Channel 1.1.2 running on IOS58, I've asked about this 1.1.2 before. I just softmodded mine again and it shows 1.1.0 the same as before.

I don't know if your 1tb seagate goflex desktop is the same as mine 1TB FreeAgent? GoFlex? Desk External Hard Drive but I don't have trouble with any games. I bought a friend the same drive and he doesn't have trouble. We both use WBFS Manager it always works.

The only thing I can put your problem down to is how your drive is formatted FAT32, NTFS or WBFS and how are you adding games to the drive?

Hi, the drive is the same as yours. It's formatted WBFS and games were copied over using WBFS Manager.

I'll try the drive on my mates and see if it works on his.

Well if you drive is the same as mine then I can't see why it doesn't work fo you as your sysCheck is the same as mine now apart from yours being Homebrew Channel 1.1.2. I bought my friend the same drive and his works perfectly the same as mine.

Just as a matter of interest have you tried the other 2 USB Loaders, CFG USB Loader and WiiFlow?

The other thing is have you tried running USB Loder GX from Homebrew if you have the wrong or faulty USB Loader GX channel that may cause a problem.

Right, I can get wii flow to recognise the drive. It will also download covers for games etc, however, when I try to load then the screen goes black and wii freezes. The light goes off on wii controller and I have to power off to get wii to do anything?

Any ideas? I not, how do I go about removing everything and starting again?

As I said before The other thing is have you tried running USB Loder GX from Homebrew if you have the wrong or faulty USB Loader GX channel that may cause a problem.

To eliminate a bad forwarder you need to run the USB Loader from Homebrew.

Are you using the newest version of all the USB Loaders? I'm using USB Loader GX 3.0r1180, CFG USB Loader 70, WiiFlow 2.2rc1. You can see the current version number when you load then from Homebrew. Each USB Loader will check and download any newer versions if they are available. CFG USB Loader is the tricky one there are different updates for different problems only select 70 (release).

If you softmodded it correctly you should have done a NAND backup. If you did then you can restore the NAND back to near original then install all the wads again.

If you Google this problem wiiflow black screen loading game there are many sites that talk about this problem.

                              Hi Keith,

I have tried loading it from homebrew and still no joy.

Using nand, I've re-installed and still getting issues. Wiiflow recognises drive but when i try to load, the whitte bar gets half way across screen and it freezes. CFG just freezes, USB Loader GX does not recognise drive. I'm using the nearest to the side usb port.

                              wiiflow is version 4.1
