Dm500s lost channels?

Hi Can anyone help please, my mates 500s has lost all channels? it just stopped working? ive re flashed it, done the Factory settings, rescanned still Zero, it boots up fine to CCam, could this be a hardware Prob? He has just told me he inserted his S*y card? as someone told him that would work? Could it be the mac No? as it may be a clone?

What sort of dish does he have or is he trying to use S*y dish? Have you got any channel listings loaded? What sat are you trying to tune?

Hi Curious, The box like others was working fine, the dm500s sort of died? the channels disapeared? even after re flashing, I have it on my dish that is working perfect, the guy tried to make it work better? but it still had the same image on it! I am a Computer Networking Tech, where I am supposed to fix everything? that plugs in? I do love the dm500s, and I would love a good movable dish, its on my wish list, the dm500s sitting here will NOT find any channel? The Tuner could be frigged? or you as am is new to this, could slap my head and say do this? I do like the dm500s this one has got me stumped, so the best place to ask was you guys!!

When you say your dish is working fine do you mean your S*y dish? If it is a mini dish than you will only pick up FTA on 28.2E. If you reflashed it than you need to make sure you have put in the longtitude and latitude.

Well, i take it you have a sky dish connected or else i dont see why you would put sky card in..
Why dont you use someone elses satellite.xml channel list then go to menu and turn rotor settings to off..then see if freesat channels work...
I hav no experience of a dreambox whatsoever at all..

Hi Curious, It is a full size S*y dish set up perfect by an engineer with quad lmb, other 500s boxes work so-so they keep pausing now and again, I am working on that problem.
I copied the Flash from a good working 500s to my xp machine, and used that flash a few times and works OK, But, this one box? it is NOT picking up any channels? but it still sees what should be on? I have tried re scanning Nothing? It was working for months then stopped dead? NO channels what so ever?

Hi Again, I am still beat with this dm500s that just stopped working? My own dm500s works fine, but this one will NOT pick up any channels now? I have tried a few images, reset it to factory settings, Nothing! The Signal to noise ratio is fine about 60% when I try to scan it for 28.2E, I get the "All known transponders have been tried, but no lock was possible"? when I try a channel? it says the Station name BUT Nothing? any help would be appreciated. Thanks

you are not alone

hi you are not the only person with this problem !

i had a dm500-s do exactly the same to me !
it is not a timebomb 1st ! ok

it is your tuner that has gone down!
if you put a volt meter on the output of the box you should get at least 12v if you do not the tuner is down !

i have exactly the same problem with 1 dreambox !
when i replace it with another it works fine .

also when you have flashed an image ( depending on the image)
sometimes your box will not boot and the screen stays black or when you do get a screen when you press the green button for sattellites the sattellites words are missing in the green box !

i have even tried j-tagging to change the tuner from philips to alps and visa versa !
