Nintendo fans not an emulator but an actual device built inside an n64 cartridge that fools the machine into thinking that a backup copy of a rom, is a real bonafide game cartridge.
The roms are stored on a an sd card which slips into the top of the cartridge. Roms are easy to find on the Internet and can be transferred onto the sd card using your computer. An 8gb card can hold thousands of games.
Hello mario 64, goldeneye, zelda the ocarina of time, mario golf, conker, Diddy kong racing, mario kart etc etc.

Because its not emulation it's playing the thing through the n64 CPU just like a real game cart.
