What happened to all my thanked posts

Had quite a few thanks for some of my posts but they have all gone now

Forum has been upgradded from Vbull 3.8 to Vbull 4.2 to sort out lag issues ect and make it run better on modern server software ... the thanked posts never made the upgrade.

Small price though for a better running forum me thinks

df is working on restoring them, but i dont know if he will be successful or not.

Most cases i have seen the thanks stay lost with some forums doing away with them altogether and just using the likes button.

Not saying Df can't do it ... but am sure most people won't mind to much and will start over

I contemplated seriously whether to open a new thread, in the end - i decided against it. If however a moderator feels that this is irrelevant, please do move this into a new thread.

I respect and hold nothing but gratitude towards the efforts which have gone into the recent development of this website; therefore please understand that anything I say is for no other purpose than to contribute towards the development.

Since the update the Thanks count has been reset, something which I understand has been looked at and I wanted to query as to whether the possibility of having the counts re-instated has reached a dead end?

Anyway, My question... Is there meant to be an option to 'Like' and also 'Thank(s)' someone for a post? I was under some sort unfounded belief that the newer 'Like' system was a replacement to the thanking system?
Plus would it be possible to include a 'Likes Received' count under a user profile?

To be honest i really don't understand the obsession for the thanks to be shown in the post bit ... i do like the 'like button because it has a use ... if i answer a post i click the like button on the post i answered then the poster gets notified and can go straight to the thread/post ... keeps the conversation going.

Agree with manx on the like notifircation i liked a post putly for fettish and greed reasons

helped a member because was too lasy to diy
