Sansung Galaxy SII not working

I think I've be done, I bought a 2nd hand Samsung Galaxy SII from a friend of a friend. I bought the phone and it worked fine for 3 weeks then all of a sudden "no signal".
I tried to get hold of the guy but no luck so I eBay'd it bit it got removed so basically I'm stuck with a rather expensive media player.

Is there anything I can do or should I just face up to the fact I've been done ?. Pished of aint the word , I thought I was cleverer than to fall for a cheap scam.

?125 , why ? I knew it was a bit cheaper than the eBay jobs but not greatly cheaper.

Sounds like the classic "flog it to a sap, then report it lost/stolen and get a new phone..."
Not much you can do with it, apart from flog it abroad... Or tackle your "mate"
