Hello guys have any of you used one of the hd media centres that are available to buy how do they work and is it worth buying one.

i would say yes and no.
yes because it looks like a nice little box.
no because it is imho overpriced when you can get a similar box, ie this 1tb model

dont think there is m8, certainly not at that pricemark.

Markus is a great box :P i can only recommend,
Buy from DK!,, surly profit better for your favoutite site , where no doubht you will be back for support..

@krypton,, that link you post has no where near specs of the Markus 750, which is only about 40? dearer inc vat.
The 750 has scart input for recording and upscaling any set-top-box as well as being your media centre.
It also has a built in Digital terrestrial tuner, which gives you a recordable freeview box too!,,

All with timeshift and pausing live TV!!,,( from Digital TV or from set-top-box ),, and wireless!

Common,,,,, see the light.

edit---- the second link is pretty poor spec too, and offers none of most of above.

well i have the so speaky pvr and am comparing those specs to the markus 750
the 750 with 1tb is 300, if i was after a new box, i would certainly go for the 800 for ?320.
i am not slagging the markus boxes off at all, i would of thought that most people on this site are into saving money, so i thought i would try and help with a similar product for less.


ah! wifi is extra on markus. im going with standard specs

800 a nice box too..wireless on that is by antenna and not dongle now,it just desnt have the inputs for a set-top box.
750 has scart and rca input.

But it be even more nicer in a cpl more months when the newer revision arrivies with sigma chip,,

need help with my hard drive so speaky HDMI works very well with my pc windows xp pro but the multimedia section on my TV signal or not in connection with HDMI or YUV.
