S3 uodate today

I have had a firmware update this morning on my samsung s3 their now seems to be a N at the top what seems to be a wifi signal on it any one know what it is.

I'm guessing your phone is branded to a network. Which version are you running now?

hi mate the N at the top of your screen is telling you that the NFC/S BEAM option is active.just go into settings >more settings >NFC .just turn it off with the slider that's highlighted green !!

That's a bit strange. I flashed my sisters S2 with generic 4.something, so the NFC shouldn't be active as the generic firmware doesn't support NFC...but the big 'N' is still there.

Guess I'll have another look as she's bringing it in for another flash.

Ok, flashed the s2 with 4.1.2 & no 'N' on the Task bar. Wow, you learn something every day on here.

NFC/S BEAM option is active just turn it off in menu,, or leave it on,, no difference.. i think,,hihihihihi
