Home sound distribution using DLNA server and Players...

    Hi everyone!
As per the title, my project which I am gathering all parts I will need to get it working, is to have sound distributed over the entire house...
Sonos systems and similar are out of the equation, not just are well over my budget, but also require to many wires, for the controllers etc...

So this is what I am planning to do: I already have wired network all over the house, including the loft, and I also have a NAS DLNA compatible, so, the DLNA server (NAS) will be ready to stream contents at any time; using an Android tablet (the cheapest one I have found on eBay...) withy the App Skifta (Skifta? ), or similar, loads of them on play store... so with that I will be able to use the tablet as a bridge/remote to push contents from the DLNA server to any device DLNA compatible on the network... (I have tested it on my both TV's, and works like charm...).

Now, for the sound I will have 2 ceiling speakers on each room, (one single stereo speaker for small compartments, such as bathrooms... to feed the speakers I am planning to use this kind of amps... (6 X 100 Watt 6 Ohm Class D Audio Amplifier Board - TDA7498 6CH 100W Power Amp | eBay ), speakers will be turned on or off, so I can have sound only on the rooms I want, by using on of this Ethernet 16 CH Relay Module, Board for Home Automation - SNMP, Web, IP, LAN | eBay , also controlled with the tablet through the appropriate app...

Now, my doubt, is which DLNA player should I use to feed the amp... As you can see video is not required, as it will be used only for sound, actually as the player will be placed on the loft it will have to be as simple as possible... on eBay I found a few possible solutions, like this Egreat R6S HD Network Media Player, support 3D, Android, DLNA, eSATA | eBay ... just not sure if I can use it to just push contents to it? I am sure there is brains out there which can give me some suggestions...

Any thoughts will be more than welcome! Sorry for the long post, was just to make sure would be understandable...

On the loft the "box" where everything will be fitted is ready...
I decide to go for one big amplifier only, rather than the pcb style one... better sound quality...

Just a mess for now... the system will have 6 areas in total, each area with stereo of course! The areas will be turned on or off using a network relay board. Also, the system will go off when all areas are turned off, and will come back on as soon as any of the areas are turned on. The 12v circuits, like slave relays etc... will be feed by an modified computer power supply, I have plenty of them, and can save a bit of money on that...
        20130530_003948.jpg
This has been done reusing an old board... Also for the main relay which will be turning everything on and off another board has been made, using diodes to prevent the current from flow backwards and power on the areas not selected...

It might seems at bit confusing, but later it will make sense...

Hi, another update... System is now fully functional on the first floor,
including lightning, and the central heating, all able to be turned on or off remotely.

                  Hi
I am know facing a problem, for some reason I have a wired noise coming from the speakers...
(Off topic; glad someone resolved the formatation problem!!! )
The noise disapears if i disconnect the player and connect my tablet for example, the noise does not go up with the volume, is constant, it does however, goes away for a couple seconds, and them comes back on...
My hunch is that is generated by the mains power, does it makes sense?
Just want to get rid of it, it ruins the whole project...

Ignore the crackling noise at the end, that is not from the the speakers...

                  Hope someone can help...

I'm back with some more updates...

But first just to say that the bloody interference still there...
A m8 lend me 5 versions of ground lifters, none was able to get rid of it!...
Now, cause I've literally run out of options about how to eliminate the noise, I have however found how to overcome the issue...
For some unknown reason, (at least to me...), if I connect the tablet even connected to the charger, the noise/interference is gone!!!!
I need however a tablet with RJ45 port, as the wireless signal in the loft is weak, and starts to give too many errors, bl? bl? bl?...
I have already found one on eBay for 50 quid, which is not that bad...

Anyway, all the cables are now distributed downstairs as well, 6 cables for the 3 areas downstairs, and 6 network cables...

                      20130618_180009.jpg
(in the above photo not all cables were there yet...)

                      Living Room...
                      20130618_175741.jpg

The kitchen is already finished (the audio part...) and the sound bar has been fitted and connected.
The missus can now do the dishes and listening to all the romantic songs she likes...
                      20130618_231520.jpg

                      20130618_232748.jpg

The outdoors audio cables and com/network cables have been routed to the outside, however a major job needs to be done prior to connect the speakers...
For the living Room I'm still try to get hold of a Samsung HW E-350 sound bar, ideally a faulty one, which would be cheaper, and as I don't need the electronics, that would be just fine, but on eBay just working ones... if I don't find a faulty one, I think I will have to bite the bullet and buy the more expensive version... will see!...
