    Disappointed with Channel Lists

Having had the Nokia DBox and Dreambox 500c in the past I was always impressed with the channel lists and interface. But when I moved over to Sat and the Skybox last night I was disappointed with the Channel Selections and the general interface of the groupings etc.

I've downloaded and tried a few lists but they are all over the place. Is it just me ?

I like AJ's channel list but if you are unhappy with any of the channel list out there why not create your own there are channel editors available so you can do it on the pc once you have created one to your taste post it so others can enjoy it as well.

On the other hand without forum members who create lists which takes hours of there own spare time and then upload them here for others to enjoy where would everyone be pretty much screwed, Personally all the people who do actually create lists deserve a pat on the back. If people are not happy with how these lists look or feel then as said above and many times before create your own and then maybe upload it for other members to enjoy and then let the criticism begin

What do you mean by "all over the place"?

Have you tried AJ's list? Once you have renamed the Fav's the first time you use it, it is well layed out.

Your wasting your time a member who joined in 2008 and only has 3 posts but umpteen downloads is only here for one thing only. I am pretty sure most members who have Aj's list on there box are quite happy and have zero problems

Would be best for members to at least put one decent post per month on forum, if not, they get removed unless they have a good reason why they have not posted. That's the only way to stop leeches.

Ehhh thanks for the feedback !!! I'm only on here now because I only purchased the Skybox on Friday. I'm not having a go at the guy who did the list all I was trying to say is that the "interface is a bit basic along with the EPG" versus what I was using 5 years ago on the Nokia DBox's.

                That's all !!!

Mate. That's the best you're gonna get on the F3, it's a basic bit of kit. If you want better you gotta spend more, simple as that really.

Who cares about the menus anyway? You don't watch the menus

As stampede says, the open/skyboxes are very cheap & basic, but they do a good job (IMO).

I was into the Dboxes as well many years ago. The thing about the Dbox was that there were too many images around to try out! I spent more time trying different images than watching TV. And the amount of options in the menus was virtually infinite! LOL.

Know what you mean. Maybe its just me but I watch a particular channel based on whats actually on. You only know whats on with the epg of flicking through the channels. I prefer the epg at a glace.

So what box should i have bought then if budget wasn't an issue.

I have noticed channels can be all over the place too using channel lists that are provided for openboxes...this could be my own user error but usually i get one that works with the box i am currently working on..however i recently put a list on an x3 and all favs were named as fav1/fav2 etc etc...i dont mind that so i renamed the certain bouquets in the list to what i preferred and i have uploaded it below.

This is aj,s own list which works perfectly on an x3 model and it saved me the trouble and time of editing the list myself..all i have done is change what the bouquets were named as..in my case fav1 etc..

Note: if your using CCcam then write the cccam prio file i have included also..Only for 0963 tho..like myself if your using mgcamd on these boxes then the prio file is not required.

Also the sooner people realise these boxes are cheap and cheerful the better..they get the job done, the only other boxes i use is the vu range but not a lot of people can afford them unfortunately!
