Channels jump every 30 seconds or so

Hi i have a tm 5402 hd ci, over the past two weeks my channels jump every 30 seconds, freeview channels are fine. I even tried updating the phantom patch to 128p but that doesnt fix the problem but when it jumps on that patch the audio/video go out of sync. i have updated the channel lists but that doesnt work either. I even tried a different saoftcam but still the same.

    Any one got any ideas?

    Thanks

Its your Internet Provider due to Ping times and over subscription in peak times on the Broadband side, Nothing else can cause this as you already ruled out the receiver side by trying the Free to air channels which tells me that this is operating as it should.

How old is your router scud ? Try updating the FW on it as that can also lead to problems if its fairly old. But like digi said most likely out with your control.

Virmin that explains it all then i would imagine you are in an over subscribed area for the Broadband your only hope is to change provider because until Virmin actually pump some money into upgrading there infrastructure instead of paying david tennant to advertise there crap service you have no chnace

It is not the speed you want its the quality of line and connection

Check which polarity the channels are on as I have noticed in the past on tm5402 a faulty lnb/cable will start with channels on the horizontal glitching before they go off completely. Usually starts with sports hd on the horizontal before spreading to other hd on h then to sd on h then the ****ers go off Strangely everything on the vertical is not affected or wasn't in my case or the other tm. Mine had faulty lnb. The other tm I know about had bad cable connection at box. Both faults produced exactly the same issues.

                    HH,

In the original Post he states all his FTA are AOK which are all broadcast on different polaritys and different bands of the spectrum which would suggest its something to do with his broadband.

                    Regards

as he states he has the super hub with issues, this fix also used with the kv hd box,so worth a try.

if you have the super hub and have problems you can try this also.

found this elsewhere.he has the super hub.

Ok since I last posted I decided to switch my not so super hub into
modem mode(WiFi off) and connected to the hub a netgear dual band
wireless N router brought off eBay for 35quid.
Then connected my kV 780 to the new router. After using this method for
over a week I have seen a vast improvement I rarely get a scrambled
message with loss of picture. And channels that were previously terrible
are watchable again as at worst the picture will freeze every 5mins or
so for 2secs with the sound continuing then picture resumes.
I know this may not work for every but if your still struggling with bad
reliability buying a decent 300m wireless N router for 20quid and using
                      this method I highly recommend.
At worst if this method doesn't improve your viewing you'll have better
WiFi range as in my case and many others the super hubs wireless signal
                      was poor. .

take your stb to a friends house and if its ok there then its the router but if its still freezing its a crap provider unless of course your friend has a crap router/bb ping but 90% its the provider overloading his system.regards mdt

So were mine to begin with digi. It took about 6 weeks before it spread to all channels on the horizontal. It started with the hd premium channels then slowly spread. I went down the same route and changed router first. It wasn't until I was asked about the same problem on the other tm it came to light that my tm won't run on the outer ports of a quad lnb, luckily my solo isn't so fussy. I have also spoke to more people with tm5402's that have problems on multi port lnb's unless the tm is the only box running.
