dreambox problems

hi all .....i have just bought a dreambox 500 i new when i bought it that it had no roms ....and thought i could ftp them in myself have done that but still only get FTA channels ...i think its running nutrino/ enigma ....i have tried to reflash it with the latest image file ....using dream up....everything is fine untill i click connect and nothing happens.......can anyone please advise

did it say now power on the dreambox
if so
did you pull the power lead out and then power back up again
