MPs Are In Line For ?20,000 Pay Rise

MPs are in line for a pay rise of up to ?20,000 in a move that could spark public fury.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) has been looking at an increase of between ?10,000 and ?20,000.

This could potentially boost MPs' pay to more than three times the ?26,500 national average salary.

The lower ?10,000 figure is considered a more likely increase but even this is likely to anger voters.

Taxpayers' salaries have risen by just 0.6% on average this year and many people are struggling to cope with the rising cost of living.

They need the pay rise, because everything is more expensive on the different planet where they live.

                  It's a case of:

You're in it together, we're ok thanks
Do as we say, not as we do
Not forgetting Dave's favourite "I know the British public want us to have the pay rise, they voted for us....."
and.... mostly "F*** you, we're all ok"
My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

                    Be one then

I think they are relatively poorly paid tbh

mps even though we all love to hate them give us the life we have today, they give us doctors, hospitals and roads and welfare there was a time not too long ago we didnt get benefit and free hospitals

yes they may take a few bungs who doesnt?

They cant do wrong for right to be honest

build power station ,cant its too dangerous
build wind farm, cant it spoils my view
build new transport links, cant it might make a noise
cut welfare, cant im skint now
                    raise welfare, cant countrys skint

its balancing act that will never be balanced because all governmenets need votes and balancing the countries books requires going against voters, and everybody wants more and more with somebody else to foot the bill as long as its not them

mps monies are like a grain of sand on a beach in comparison to rest of debt.

the rise is just due to the fact its harder to claim "dodgy expenses" now and will probably make little difference to whats been sneaked through the last few years anyway

We're in the money together in the MP's club, the rest of you aren't.

Not bad for a part time job anyway.

So as a reward for fiddling we're going to give you more money? F**k I think I'll go rob a bank, should be worth a ?100k a year pay rise then.

No its not right to reward it but in the grand scheme of things it changes little.

No we are not in it together but Mp's are pretty poorly paid tbh you probably earn more than most of them

I dont really care what mps get tbh

We all have a choice, we all get to go to school and college if needed, you can get loans for UNI that only need paying back IF you get a decent job

Yet all we do is moan about what everyone else gets, when in truth if the majority of whiners could actually of been arsed to do anything with their life, instead of thinking it was better to get smashed or pregnant instead they may of had a better one

Society is geared up to reward effort, and motivated people whether qualified or unqualified can always make decent money in UK

Sitting at home doing nothing and whining about everything will make you nothing

I have to agree with some of the points because maybe they're true anyway. However those that did 'fiddle' should have been charged with fraud, taken to court, and then to prison - see how they like the place themselves. If I 'fiddled' my expenses I know (and I'd expect) a knock on the door from Mr Plod very quickly - the police always react quickly to anything whereby it isn't a robbery, burglary or theft. Some of them did get taken to court and rightly so. They seem slow to react when it's public figures like MP's, funny that.

Yes you're probably right, all in all I do get more than a fair number of them, but that's not the point. I *don't* tell people we're in it together and then award myself a ?20k pay rise right in the middle of this f**ked up recession.

MP's told the usual half truths to get elected, with promises to sort the country out with the words "we're all in it together"... only they aren't. If that's not the definition of being a bigoted lying b****rd without an ounce of common decency I don't know what is.
