    Three EUROVOX EX1000L's dead, HELP!

I purchased three EX1000SL's and updated the firmware, they all seemed to work fine untill the boxes (all three) where unplugged from the wall and plugged in again, at this point the boxes froze and theres no power at all, not lights on the front red or green, can anyone help, PLEASE!

All three have gone at the same time!! were they all new? where did you purchase them from. You sure the socket your plugging them into isn't faulty as for all three to go at the same time is very strange to say the least.

Yes all three have gone, nothing wrong with the sockets, two of them went faulty in a completly different house, purchased them from TechDNA.

They are known for selling clones and they are not good at all with there warranty once the firmware has been loaded mate , I suggest you contact them and see what they have to say.

I too find it very strange that 3 boxes should behave like this if you go to their website it says firmware pre loaded, works straight from the box ..... since we are not aware of how the boxes were did you try using them straight from the box? was there really a need to update anything? since you say you updated are you sure you used the correct firmware ? very intrigued by this one ....

No i didn't check them out of the box, what an idiot i am, but the boxes worked fine after the update until i uplugged them from the mains, then i plugged them back in and this happens, the firmware i used was the latest UFL_EX1000SL_24-02-09_nosort_DarX, i have flashed other EX1000SL's (purchased from different place) with the previous firmware UFL_EX1000SL_DarX_01-12-08 and they worked fine, also i didn't no you could get EX1000SL clones yet, are clones available of these boxes yet?

I was going to try and JTAG one of the boxes to see if i can revive it then use the UFL_EX1000SL_DarX_01-12-08 firmware and hope it works.

Yes the ex1000SL has been cloned, I have heard it from good sources, the firmware pre-loaded is the FTA firmware, as from the site "Preloaded with FTA software so works straight out of the box"
FTA means Free to air so it would definitely of needed flashing with the latest update. Considering you bought 3 from them and everyone has gone wrong I would ring them up and demand an refund.

Is there any way to check if they are clones or not?

Hard without taking the lid off and then it is void of its warranty. Look through the grill for red paint on the screw heads, also look for glue on the ribbon plugs on the board. Boxes are usually poor quality also.

I have already taken the lid off one of the boxes as i new it was the only shure way to check if it's a clone or not, there is no red paint on any screws and no glue on the ribbon cables, is this a clone and what else should i be looking for to confirm if it's a cloned box.

                    Thanks!

Looks genuine to me although I haven't seen had anything else to compare it to.

Have you tried the reset button on the board?. Hold it down whilst the box is off then turn it on and then release after a few seconds.

You may get a reply from someone else mate but if you google techDNA they are well known for selling clones, the fact that all 3 have gone wrong after flashing isn't a good sign. Satsmo maybe able to help you out mate but if it was me I would send them back, although hard with that one you have opened.
