MAX V(black)puzzled..

HI 2 U,i have a eurovox max v(black)had it nearly 2 yrs and havnt done no mods 2 it.Now and again it will lose its area code and key codes //54 01//00 01 .MENU yellow button ..This is not by turning off at the wall,even through i do turn it off at the wall but makes no difference to setup..Also i hear there is a software program where when installed you dont have to put the key codes in any more//IS THIS TRUE//ive asked this on other forums and got programs but they dont say whot they are for.So please if you give download ,tell me whot it is for..
