Some advice please...moving from cable to satellite

    Hi,

For the last few years I have been using a Dreambox 500(C) to recieve channels in a cable area. I am about to move house to a place where there is no cable service, hence will have to recieve channels through a satellite dish. It is imperitive a have access to English sport and movies.

I have no idea about the equivilent satellite boxes and recievers, can anyone offer me advice as to what I should be getting that will do the job?

I have heard rumours that boxes have to be re-flashed much more regularily, is this true?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Unlike cable you will not be able to watch the sky package without a sub or before ryan adds through cardsharing but no discussions on that allowed here..
Look into a motorised setup and a dreambox500s..

Read the Rules here; they apply to Everyone.

LOL Sadiq you beet me to it. I was in exactly the same situation a few months ago and now i have a spot on sat set up and receive pretty much every channel on every package.

i just wish i made the switch from cable to sat years ago.

check my previous threads as im sure it will answer a lot of your questions.
