Just a bit of advice for people who are having problems with their Compaq Presario Laptops.
A few months back my F500 stopped working, I could turn it on but the hard disc wouldn't boot and just a blank screen appeared. I checked the power supply/battery and everything was working fine. I was about to go and get if fixed but then I just had a look on HP's website which I'm so please about because it saved me forking out any money!
HP have extended the warrently on certain makes and models of their laptops because the bios wasn't configured correctly (not sure whether that's the technical term but something like that). Anyway if the same problem happens with your laptop then it's covered for an extended 24 months after your orginal warrenty (12 months after purchase) has ran out.
All you need to do is contact HP and they will give you the number for their the repair centre (depends where you bought the laptop). They then send out a courier to collect the next day, repair it and it's returned to you within two weeks - all free of charge.
