VM and Eurovox setup connection

Hi guys,

I knew it wouldnt be long before I had to ask a question! I'm looking to get a eurovox but keep my vm box attached. So I'll need a splitter.

Ive just looked at the cable feeding into the back of my current STB and have a forward path attenuator (3db) and a cable simulator (4db) attached it this order.

Cable feed on wall ----- attenuator ----- simulator ----- STB.

Do I need these connected when I install the splitter? And how would I fit these into the setup?

Also, is splitting the signal likely to disrupt my internet connection much? Since the vm box acts as my cable modem.
