Hi all, I can't read a 83850c drive. It fails on the second attempt. What am I doing wrong. When it says move tray to half open, open and half close position do I just push the tray in and out manually or use the eject button?

Tray out with eject power off and push back in halfway.

Whats the date of the drive as ones after aug 09 can be tempremental and sometimes you cant get into them.

thanks for that, it helped me do it. but now it wont read any discs. i extracted it 5 times and got the same key 5 times. loaded ix16-liteon838. the date is may 2009. dont know what to do now

Erm Probe? there's 2 versions, V1 and V2, V2 supports 83 V2 and 93 series drives
