DM500s for ?47 including delivery.

I always like to keep an eye out for good deals on dreambox concidering I buy regularly.

But I just came across this place: DealExtreme: $79.00 Dream DM-Box DM500S DVB-S Standalone Linux Digital Satellite Receiver with LAN Port

The look just like the 600s, so anyone epxeriance buying from these guys or got one? Can you ship it back if theres a fault etc???

You'll have to contact them if they'll pay for delivery costs back and forth. They are a good company and I remember someone here giving that link out. $79 seems a steal! Though Im not too sure if it has a 2 layer PCB or 4 layer PCB. I suspect 2 layer. What I know about the layers is that the board is "better" if it has more layers, however Im not too sure if it really matters

Oh and I would also have a look at yahoo finance to see when you can save some more pennies

they've gone to the effort of changing the name of the box and packaging but then left "Dream multimedia" written on the remote

still not got my one from then but they say up to 14 working days and i think it is only 10 days now

Its only a cheap Clone 500 out of China ! with most likely a front cover something the New DreamBox 500 HD will sport !

Other than how it looks, its realy down to the Craftmanship or lack of to be more precise as out of a batch of 20 more than 3 never work !

If It was me who ordered it ! I would firstly open it up before I switch it on and take out any Metal fragments left behind inside it when it was been made and Glue down the Network port as these along with the Scart are the first to get lose and fail to work !

You get what you pay for in all honesty .... if you get a year out of it for that money its not a bad return ...
