Data Transfer from Old P.C to New P.C .. How ??

    Hi Guys,

I'm buying a new computer this week, because quite frankly this one is way to old and full to the rafters with 8 years of photo's, Video's and music.

I was wondering if anyone could advise me how you get all your prized stuff off your old P.C and onto you new one ???

Especially things like emails and email addresses ( it's took years to gather them I don't want to loose them all )

I am a computer novice so explanations in the simplest way would be apprreciated.

    Thanks

    Transfer

First in ur browser export file in some format, then put old HDD in new comp and copy.If comp is sealed, u can do it with usb stick or cable.

If it isnt many gigabytes burn to dvd (s) then load onto new PC. If it a lot buy a hard drive case which basicallly you take your old hard drive out of old pc put into case and you have an external hard drive

I bought a data transfer cable, quite expensive @ approx ?20 but easy to use and fast, basically a click and your there, will keep all your info inc favs etc and is compatible with xp > vista or vista > vista

I think I've sorted it, I've bought an external hard drive, so I'll just back up everythig to that and then transfer onto the new computer,

            Thanks for the advice.
