eurovox pvr freezing

have had the eurovox pvr fora week now and not managed to record much
have set several items to tape while at work when get in the pvr is either stuck i record or it is frozzen up and no recordings
i also have to keep switching it of in the morning to make it come on
wd harddrive came with unit and latest 1,1a loaded

have reset the box and put 1.1 firware on not the 1.1a version and everything is working ok
