Loss of channel names??....HELP

Hi, ive got a eurovox 1000sl. I have lost all the names of my channels. I can still get the channels but there names only show as TVCH1..etc.

I have tried factory reset and rescanning many times.

Anybody experienced this?

r u using a splitter do you have broadband if so switch broadband off at mains then scan also check your wire is in the back ov eurovox ok broadband drains the signal on a scan

Okay...I have just tried scanning with my broadband switched off, but exactly the same. I am not using any splitters. It seems to be getting progressively worse. To start with i would have sky sports, bbc, itv names. but now none!

ok go to a channel push info twice tell me the signal strength top right

Okya, i have taken the back off my eurovox 1000sl. Can anyone tell if its genuine or a clone??

Secondly i have noticed a chip with some hard glue like stuff on. Does anyone know what this is, or if this chip will cause my problems.

Okay, I have a variable attenuator. without it, my signal is around 85% but it says no or bad signal. When i attach my variable attenuator to about 75% i can then see the channel. i have to do this for every channel.
