Help connecting Eurovox to DVD recorder with HDD

I have just purchased a LG RHT498H DVD recorder with HDD.

How do I connect it to my Eurovox EX1000 SL?

At the moment my Cable box is connected to the TV the normal way, via a scart lead and the cable aerial lead goes into the cable box.

I have my DVD recorder connected via scart to the TV,

I have connecetd the cable box to the DVD recorder using the other scart on the cable box to the scart on the DVD recorder, is this correct?

I can't seem to be able to get any channels showing on my DVD recorder when I try to do auto set up to tune in the channels, I also have an RF cable connecting from loop out on cable box to Antenna In on my DVD recorder.

Tried loads of different permutations but can't seem to get any channels showing through my DVD recorder.

DVD's play ok on the DVD recorder, and my cable box is working fine through the TV with the set up I explained.

    Anyone got any ideas?

your scart cabling is correct - a triangle between the three sets. You don't need the coax into the dvd recorder as audio and video are through scart. You must have some setting wrong somewhere

If you have an av button on ur remote for the recorder try pressing that. If it's looped via scart you won't find the box on a channel number but via av. If ur still struggling I've got my box running from the living room via rf out to the tv antenna input in the bedroom(or for you the rf in on the recorder) in which case you'd have to retune the recorder. Hope that helps.

Thanks scotty_dotty, that seems to get the channel showing through the DVD recordere when I press the av button, but it doesn't actually solve the problem of recording something on one channel when watching another one, this just manually records what I have my cable channel on, getting there though!

Maybe Im wrong, but I dont think you can do that can you ? the only way you can watch one program and record a different one is via a Virgin+ or Sky box, because they have more than one tuner ...

Also if you have bought yourself a hdd recorder, why connect it with scrart get hdmi lead.
As said you cant watch 1 channel & record another (although I found out you can if they are on the same transponder).
