Just been given a new camcorder from santa and was wondering what software was best for auditing and burning to disc please.

I have a Sony Hvr- A1e and i like to use the adobe cs4 software. prem pro is great for capture and editing. Encore gives you full control over disk authoring, a real pro finish can be achived.
If you are new to editing try out adobe premire elements and / or cyberlinks power director... both are easy to use and will help understand the whole process from start to finish... and move up to the more complex software suits.
Which ever route you take... best of luck.
