New XBOX360 wanting to flash it - Info needed

    Hello People

    I have just purchased a new Xbox360 elite 120gb (purchased 21/1/2010)

How much am i looking at to get it flashed?

Would it be easier for myself to do it?

I dont want to break it.

    cheers

If its got the new liteon drive you'll have to cut some points and solder others.
I've just finished messing mine up so am also looking for a modder .

Did you get the key off it?

Have you retracked it and tested the drive to see if it still works?

If not you may find its ~~~~ed mate.

Nope I couldn't get the key because the red light didn't come on when I switched to write mode. It was a green light no matter which position the switch was in.

I haven't retracked it but the cuts are ok, I think my soldering skill was to blame (last time i did any hardcore soldering was the d0 point on the xbox1). The solder didn't want to stick to the points even though I scraped them and added flux. I think if anything is messed up its the lt key.

I can retrack it over the weekend and try again but I don't know if I want to risk making it worse.

          Ive goosed one myself

followed everything to the letter, cut the traces perfectly, even measured the resistance at 22Ω steady (gold resistors are +-5%, this resistor was bang on)

Everything hooked up and soldered perfectly, i even cleaned everything up under a magnifying glass and checked continuity to ensure this.

          Then voila.... nothing!
The new liteons seem disturbingly tempremental.
I even tested and it 3.3v was being directed across the rail, so its only what? 0.15A (150 milliamps) passing through the component...

Apparently xecuter has released a pcb jig that you just apply to save all the soldering and messing around, not had any experience with it yet.

But yeah, im fairly experienced at this and ive managed to goose one, defnately not a mod for a beginner.

Not seen this pcb jig chroma, so if you messed 1 up dont hink i would have much chance as never really soldered before.

Xecuter Lt switch is a good piece of kit saves uninstalling wires etc after you've got the key of it

gooosed it up havent heard that b4

check out the xbox scene for a modder who touches started work, i do them but offer no guarantee if its been messed with

ive had noobs wiped keys and send it to me for flashing expecting a miracle (i know one modder who gets involved in motherboard key recovery)

                  good luck

currently running LT on 7 series liteon and 1.61 on BenQ drive
