Basically if you have a VALID sly card in another receiver, can you still use the + feature to record free channels on hd box? If not is there a way around this???

Yes there is guys!!..ring sky and tell em your kid has pulled the card out of the box and snapped it in half....they will send you another for a tenner...they will switch the chnls off the other card,but the recording functions still work...i did this over 12 months ago and the recording is working fine still on the fta chnls...Comment

I was under the impression that you could just ring Sky anyway and tell them you have an extra box and would like a card so you can just view FTA channels through it.
Then when it arrives ring and they'll match the card to the box as with a normal subscription.
Of course I could have got the wrong end of the stick entirely - not often you get something for nothing!!Comment

my new white card came and the blue 1 worked well for a few months in my octagon,untill switched off recently...but the old blue 1 still recording fine in the plus box in kids room....Comment

Just tried this in me 6900hd.Put sly card in card reader and started recording living channel,took sly card out and it went to blank screen but carried on recording,let it record for 5 mins exactly then stopped.Went to filelist on 6900HD and never playedback.Reset 6900hd and reinserted sly card went to playlist and it played back fully.Gonna try it on other channels when I get time.Started recording encrypted .ts files off certain channels and packages.some will play back once messed about with on pc and some won't.If anybody is interested in doing more research into this then please get in touch.Comment

sly card has to be sync'd with sly hd box serial number for + features to work !Comment
