have a little puter for the telly, an acer aspire revo R3600.
It is 95% there just as a media player, running Windows 7, XBMC, VLC, WMC etc
The unit sports two sound outputs, a stereo headphone socket, and the HDMI port.
At the moment I am using the headphone socket to 2 phono leads into the telly speakers and getting stereo sound. But I am wanting 5.1 .
I have the hdmi going to my AV Amp, a Sony 1200, then thru to my telly (just 1 DVI input) for the vision part. But I cannot get sound at all. Thru the amp that is, I know no sound goes thru DVI.
On closer inspection in Windows, I see the sound windows shows headphones, with a green tick, 2 speakers with a red cross, and hdmi with a red cross and ' not plugged in ' .
But it is plugged in, coz I am seeing the computer.
I have downloaded latest drivers from Nvidia. forget the number, but 59 on the end.
I have tried alsorts of permutations, but cannot get the sond to say 'plugged in'. Even disabling and deleting the headphone drivers.
Any Help would be greatly apreciated.
