heat up the butter, sugar and half cup of milk, slowly stir in the condensed milk, keep stirring untill boiling, stir vigourously with wooden spoon 90 times, then simmer for 45 mins. turn down the heat, then pour into shallow tray, allow to set and then score the tablet with the knife into squares.

My wife used to make Tablet using this recipe it was brilliant.
Just one thing we found improved it was using Fussells Condensed Milk, however I have been told Nestle have taken over Fussells and now sell the Fussells Condensed Milk under the name of Carnation Condensed Milk. -
900gms of sugar.. holy shit.. this will keep dentists in work for years to come

i love tablet to improve the recipe i use castor sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla essence. also unsalted lurpack butter is best.Comment

When I'm back in Glasgow I always get my supplies of square sausage and ask my cousin to have a couple of trays of tablet ready for me.
I've made it many times but it needs that certain touch that some have to get it perfect in my opinion.
