New Free Satellite Service for UK

Coming soon (spring 2010) a new satellite service with be on the astra sat offering free Tv and HD channels to rival Freesat and Sky. This can be veiwed by the fortec box on the market soon, they expect to offer 400+ free channels, google Real Digital Tv for more info, good news at last!

400 channels? thats a lot. not sure there would be that much space on the satellite. but maybe, as usual, im wrong.
even as micro channels, theyre going to need a few transponders for that.

It'll be another 400 channels of advertisments with 0898 numbers on it, waste of transponder space, but there must be money it it for them anyway. Doubt that Rupert will be losing sleep over it.

Just rooted up quite an old thread but it is now in the latter part of 2010 and there has been no word at all about this platform. Whats the story on it? It looked quite promising with their promise of 400 free channels.I read on their website in the letter to the broadcasters section:

"26th of May 2010: EPG goes live on the RD home transponder.
28th of May 2010: First deliveries of RD set top boxes arrive in retail stores. "

But has anyone seen any of these Real Digital boxes in the shops never mind seeing the transponder on 28.2E.

It's just a pipe dream of David Henry/Rapture TV. He's even given up spamming other forums with talk of RD now.
