A gigabyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes in real terms.
Manufacturers are sly bastards however and quote a gig as 1,000,000,000 bytes... because they can.
So a 20gb hard drive should technicly have 21,474,836,480 bytes but only have 20,000,000,000. Ie they miss out over an entire gigabyte, so a manufacturers 20gig drive is only 18.6gb to begin with.
Add to this that the xbox uses part of it for its filesystem and system files and you wind up with substantialy less.He who laughs last thinks slowest.Comment
