how to get free channels? safetly and easiely,

hi i am with ntl and losing ?80 a month l large tv internet phone,
i am thinking of geting a eurovox box
but unsure if as i allready have a ntl line when i reconect that to the new eurobox i will get traced straight away .
what i want to do is put tv down to minum get one of these eurovoxs and get the free channels ,but do they freeze up a lot ,need new firmwear every few weeks ,ie is it worth doing ,as me and the family do watch a lot of tv ,but cant waste ?80 a month any longer,as have bills coming up.
how hard are they to donload the firmware/software?
as i have really basic computer electrick skills.

dont bother with a cable box m8 vm are rolling out a new encryption nagravision 3 all boxes eurovox etc will be useless within a couple of months, u can c/s with certain boxes (google for more info as it cant be discussed on here ) nut is complicated and risky, a satellite set up is really the only way forward but is more complicated than the basically plug and play cable boxes, have a good read round the forums plenty of info about, and welcome to dk
