HD for DM800...problem!

guys

i just cant get my dm800 (clone) to recognise my 2.5'' 120gb drive???

iv tried 2 different drives, but still it doesnt see any drives attached to it...

im using the nabilo blackhole image, and on the menu where it says scan for attached drives, it finds nothing?

its a great receiver but this is definately making me pull my hair out!!!

i cant even here the drive being switched on or running, like you would normally do?

im i missing something here??

is it formatted correctly?does it have to be fat32 or ntfs?mightnt be the problem just throwing some ideas out there

What image are you using?

You need to initialize the HDD on the menu first

i cannot find any options on the nabilo blackhole image to initiate the drive??

does someone know where this initiate menu can be found???

all i can find is, on the blue button, ''settings'' and attached drives, where it comes with ''no devices found''

by the way iv tried, a brand new hard drive and also a ntfs formatted one, i dont think i can format a fat32 drive upto 120 or even 250?

Go into the menu itself not the yellow or blue. It should be there if not then your box is faulty.

i'll be gutted to send the box back after spending so much time trying to get all my satellites working...

The box works great, just cant get the dm800 to recognise my drive...

can someone be more specific in terms of where in the menu the initiate menu may be?

i might jus be missing a trick here..

Menu - Setup/System then there should be HardDisk.. you go on to that, press red to inizilize it.

i can hear the hard drive working away inside the dm800, but still no luck in getting nabilo to recognise it...

the hard drive inside at the moment is a ntfs formatted one...

i went to menu > setup > but no hard drive can be seen?

do i have to format it in a different way?

as u know u cant format a drive in fat32 which more then 32gb...

any help anyone???

Hi there....

I have seen similar problems with different images....
Only way i did get the harddrive working was to format it with af pc first... I used my 2,5"/3,5" sata docking station connected to pc via usb, ans then just formatted the disk woth fat32 and selecter quick format..... Then putted the disk back in the clone, and then i could initialize it, format it and use it ....

Give it a try and let us know the result :-)


EDIT.... hehehe you found the solution while i wrote this msg :-) ... well, hope others can use the info ...
