    Hi,

can anyone send me/post his Magic Dash CAN FTDI config file? Unfortunately I wrote a VAG K+CAN config onto my interface and I can't find the Magic Dash Can file any more.

    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi Robert,

thanks, but I'm not searching the FTDI drivers. I'm searching the xml config file

    Can you post your one?

Just download FT_PROG, connect your Interface and press Read.
    FTDI Utilities

After you have read your interface you are able to export the config file as a xml document.

Thank you. Would be really nice of you

    Hi Andy,

thank you so much for the xml.
Would you also be so kind and send me your *.ept file?

You can extract ept file with MProg (also from FTDI).

    Thank you

    Hi mate,

    thank you for your help.

You need MProg for exporting ept file (also from FTDI, the earlier version of FT_Prog):
    http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/MProg3.5.zip

Just start MProg -> Scan -> File -> Save as

    Cheers

Thank you mate, but that's only the normal FT232R template

My fault - I have made a mistake

    1) MProg
    2) Device Scan
    3) Tools -> Read and parse
    4) Tools -> Read
    5) File -> Save as

    Sorry mate

    Finally I got it
After analizing the mdc.exe with HxDen I found out, that the serial number of mdc china crap is only 12345678. After playing arround with FT_Prog and MProg my programmer didn't get correct serial.

For everbody who gets also the "Programmer not found" error message:
    - Plug in the mdc programmer
    - Start FT_Prog
    - Edit serial number to 12345678
    - Program

    That's it

Thanks Andydz106 for his marvellous help

    Next problem

    1) dashboards:
When I try to read a rb4 cluster on the bench, mdc identifies the dashboard correct, but when I press on read EEPROM nothing happens. Same with another rb4 dash.

    2) edc15
I can read ecu (mileage, login) correct but when I press in read EEPROM mdc writes reading ok but where is the software saving the EEPROM file? I haven't found any bin on my hard disk.

Maybe just a bugy Chinese software? Can anyone share me his software version?

How to read EEPROM with mdc? I want to edit my immo Id for trying purposes. Is this possible with mdc? Like with vagdashcan?

    Thank you.

Any solution? Is mdc able to extract the EEPROM of an edc15 and Write back to ECU? There is a Button for Reading writing, but no prompt for filename appears

    Hi,
can someone tell me if X-can work on k-line or just CAN car's can be done? The program for X-can have k-line functions but on Smok page is not so clear.
