    Default Program keys Golf 7

Hello , a friend has Golf 7 blade key MQB year 2019 and wants spare key. A locksmit friend told me to stay away from Golf 7 from 2015 and up, he used VVDI2 to add a aftermarket key. And ended up with no working key. He had 100Amps power supply on. This car had to be fixed by odis. What to do? Stay away? Anyone

All the solutions for MQB spare key making utilise aftermarket keys fine. Xhorse offer to use their remotes to re-generate one of the already learned key IDs so ODIS won't spit an error for unauthorised key IDs if it is connected. If you're going to the trouble of buying a genuine VW key you may as well just learn it with ODIS and a GeKo login rather than stuffing around reading dashboards and sync data from working keys.

Hello dear friends, As I understand I have customer with Golf 7 year 2019, no prox. Add key (OEM 5G0 959 752 DD) . I can use Xhorse MQB universal key XSMQB1EN. If using VVDI2 it will tell what dash it is, only VDO dash is possible. Or is it better to use OEM(orginal) key, not precoded? Did I understand it right? Regards J

Most of obd2 tools which support Golf 7, after you connect it, will show you what kind of dash you have (jc, vdo)…
    vvdi2 has also diagnostic software…
Member Spiritech has already explained about original and Xhorse key..
Original or aftermarket keys can be programmed only once and most Xhorse keys can be reused…

If you've not done these before and you're concerned about breaking things just buy a dealer key and use ODIS with geko.

MQB spares are not hard until the dashboards start refusing the bootloader to read the immo data with working key or when dashboard is VC/JCI. Your 2019 may have a dashboard that won't read out and to do an aftermarket key you will be pulling the dashboard, lifting FVDD and reading the MCU in the dash for immo data, or paying for immo data(not really economically viable for spares). That said, plugging in to check the dashboard vendor isn't going to hurt the car in any way, the tool will tell you before it tries anything.

Yes, to use ODIS must be a dealer key with pre-coding.

Yes, dealer key + ODIS is full support. I've done VC, JCI and up to MY21 vehicles with a dealer key and ODIS. It works for AKL too, just need to wait for the key.

Even if VDO it's not all peaches for 2019 Golf. Had one last week and could not do it with VVDI2 - it kept telling 'wrong type selected' , whatever I did , even when it detected it as VDO also. Ended up ordering dealer key and programming it with Odis. Not a real problem but generates way less profit. Autel ofourse already gave up when it smelled the letters MQB but normally VVDI2 is getting the job done quite easy (2019 models of certain cars done before , as long as it is MQB48 and ofcourse no JC or VC)
