Usa prog is a good tool, but the one you list (USA Prog) is only for american cars and some VW, the rest you might need to go to original site of USA prog SMELECOM and check out the rest of the tools. I think the best way is to buy Data smart for pc and buy out the adapters and software authorizations for the makes that interest you. I use it and don't complain, especially for most USA cars you do it through obdII.

Yes I do have it, data smart really working, for american cars listed through obd2 connector does work with no problems and one CMM adapter also does the job, so I believe it should work with s12 programmers but I didnt buy 912 adapter, for this I am trying to do with a regular programmer.

Datasmart USA PROG VAGPROG are NO GOOD TOOLS.
in Fact all products of SMELECOM are constantly undergoing hardware changes because of too much hardware problems with the mainbody.

SMELECOM is also known as selling products not finished yet. if you buy today and it doesn't work, you get always a reaction like maybe it's this cluster or try another one but in fact they are just buying some time and you are paying for IT.

so be warned if you want a products that functions half of the time be my guest buy a smelecom products otherwise JUST DON'T BUY!!. if you want good designed product a tool like diagprog III elprosys or Dashcoder are this days much better options.

In the carlist are also a lot of other not usa cars.
And when you want a update you can get also other not usa cars in it.

I do mostly US cars and in my opinion they are so easy you don't really need expensive OBD tools. Most of the time they are hc05, hc11, 912/9s12 or 95040 most of us already have the basic tools. Well I guess if you don't want to take the dashes out and do everything through OBD plug. I feel safer reading dump off of the chip directly than through the OBD tool. Another plus using direct programmers is some OBD tools won't let save the dump it will only change the mileage and if you reading directly you always have a complete dump.

I have a USA Prog also, I am very happy with the tool. Alot of times the machine can do more then what the website says. Even if you look at the car list, the actual unit can alot more.

I don't think there is a better tool than USA PROG for american vehicles.

I had mine for about a month now and I love it. Is always a 3-5 minutes job and easy money in the pocket.

No need to remove the cluster which is a time saver in vehicles like Expedition, Navigator, or F150.

    I LOVE IT.

Usaprog is okay but doesn't do everything it claims

What additional tools are you guys using to remove the backups?

A lot of these Chinese tools do clusters only
No ecu or backups are done

Your customers I am sure would be disappointed once they

I'll second that. I have a USAPROG with yearly update plan and like it 10x more than my enigma. Now granted I am in the US, so for US cars there is nothing better. I use AVDI for MB so I dont have that for Smelecom device. For US cars, nothing can beat it, bottom line hands down. I just had an issue where it was wrecking eeproms, i would read them with EEP programmer and it would basically corrupt them. I sent it back to my US dealer, he did extensive testing and sent it back to me working fully and I'm 200% satisfied. If your in the US and working on US cars this is the only device you should get if you want to do ford, chrylser, dodge, etc over OBD for all models up to 2012/2013

Usaprog doesn't do backups for newer fords

    Does clusters only thru obdii

Kinda useless for 2010 and up
