Default 'Leaked' first pictures of iPhone 4G surface on the web-

-with rumours of June release... but are they real?

Gadget geeks, prepare yourselves to be overwhelmed - or at least feel a flutter of excitement.

For these grainy pictures are supposedly the first peek at the next generation of iPhone - the 4G.

Apparently leaked onto the internet, the images show what look like a sleeker version of the current iPhone, with a thinner, aluminium case.

Apple's next iPhone? There is a fierce online debate on whether this grainy image is the new 4G

Rumours about the next iPhone have been flying about for months, but those in the know believe a raft of new features will include multi-tasking and a greatly enhanced 5MP camera (the current iPhone only has a feeble 3MP) complete with flash.
The memory will be souped up to 64GB - doubling the current iPhone 3GS's 32GB.

Other features could include a camera on the front of the case, which would allow video chat, and HD definition.
Latest rumours circulating online are that the iPhone will hit stores worldwide in June, and will be on the Verizon network in the US.
This was given some credence by the CEO of Canadian carrier SaskTel, who said in an interview: 'The good news is that (Apple) is coming out with a new version of the iPhone in the June timeframe and they're going to put us on that. So we're quite excited about that.'

Gadget experts believe the new iPhone 4G will have up to 64GB of memory and a 5MP camera

Bloggers who have seen the pictures, however, are fiercely debating whether the images are real or fake.

Writers on website PMP Today expressed a degree of scepticism that the images of the iPhone 4G were the real thing.

They wrote: 'Given the propensity at how wild these iPhone rumours could get before its inevitable launch, we?re a bit sceptical about this one especially with the odd spacing between the logo and the other markings at the back. Only time will tell if this is legit or not.'

Another tantalising piece of evidence that the iPhone 4G is nearing release is the new 4.0 operating system, announced last week, which would incorporate features such as multi-tasking into the current iPhone 3GS model.
This week Apple announced the UK launch of the long-awaited iPad would be delayed by a month as demand had outstripped supply in the US.
