i have heard that the 3d tv is 120 hrtz and that it is still possible to watch on a good 100hrtz
    sky have said
Viewers can watch Sky's 3D channel by using either passive 3D glasses, which are cheap but require expensive TV sets, or active glasses incorporating mechanised shutter technology, which are more expensive but use cheaper sets.
as you can watch passive 3d via other sources i rember channel 4 hd week

What way do the glasses work.. do you have to get a personal set "for your eyes only".. or are they all the same.. if so then why dont they just make a screen covering on the tv out off the glass in the glasses

I hear the glasses are about 100 quid and kids are vomiting all over the place

sky are broadcasting in the "active shutter method" you need a 3dtv for this because the tv will send a signal to your glasses to activate the left/right shutter in time with the tv.

you can buy a polorised tv that will switch the signal but these are very expensive. the original sky hd box can switch this over i think. so you could potentially get away with a 100hz tv?

    havent tried that yet

ive had my 3dtv a couple of weeks now,and im really impressed with it.sky3d is spot on.cant wait till it goes live.i went for a 50" plasma samsung with shutter glasses as peeps say plasma is a lot better for 3d.its also got a 2d to 3d conversion thing built in which really work.its obviously not as good as real 3d though.also got a 3d blu-ray player.i watched ice age 3 in 3d and couldnt believe how good it was.people saying 3d is a fad dont know what there talking about imo.i love mine.
