Citroen xantia mileage

Must adapt mileage in citroen xantia old one:

?

Remove the cluster and open it.

?

Remove the motors carefully from the circuit board. Do not pull off the needles!!!

? Look for the 8 pin chip 93C46


How it is possible to remove the motors without removing the needles????? It says do not pull off the needles???? Seems impossible. Must be an error.........or I am !!!!

some times the motors are held in by lugs, look at the back wer u see the motors and see if theres any catch holding them, if no jus use a flat screwdriver and pry out

Yes ok, this is true, but my question is, why???? why may I not pull of the needles???
If I remove motors, it is the same than remove needles not??? Any diference????? So why they especific says to remove motors and not needles.this is my doubt.

sometimes wen it tells u not 2 pull the needles it is because theres isnt any point in doin so, the only reason 2 pull needles is 2 gain access 2 the eeprom and sometimes you can gain access without pulling the needles

And sometime when you do remove them .... the're gubbed and will not work again...

Hi all
Dear friend never take off needle on xantia cluster because new cluster have new steeper motor & this motor (& controler) have start poit & end poit but on old cluster start point must be selected so after takeoff needle on xantia this start poit must be tuned when you want assemble the cluster (needle) & you need many time for tune this needle.
so it is very better open cluster without remove needle.
(nissan maxima & pikup have same solution too)
