Default PSP power light comes on and goes out immediately

As the title says, the light comes on for a nano second and goes off, with power adapter in the orange light comes on but it wont power up.

    bit of back info.

I have only got this refurbished from Sony as mine had a card reader problem, I put custom firmware on it and was playing Tiger 08 and it just went off.

I have read around google and someone said if you put usb lead in and try it, that it might work as there may be a loose connection, I did that and immediately it worked and thought thats o.k, but it wont go on again now and I cant send it back as it has custom firmware on it.

It wont power up at all, not in rocovery or anything, I have tried jiggling it about but no joy. I will try again tomorrow and if I get it I am putting offical back on and sending it back. Just thought you guys may have a idea or two before that.

    Thanks in advance

    hey jaffa

that happened to my psp once

it turned out to be a faulty battery, the battery wouldnt hold the charge, or it could be your power clip.

    thx for reply m8.

I am still at a loss as to whether it is the battery or not, I was able to get it going again and as soon as I turn it off, it wont turn back on not even with charger or a different fully charged battery, but if I leave it on charge for half an hour, hey presto it works again but turns off sometimes when trying to access memory card....weird as hell, I will mess with it this week and if still the same next week I will try and put offical firmware on it and ring Sony again.

Sounds like it was duff before they sent it out mate, just pandora it mate, see if that makes a difference. I doubt its the battery as it does the same with the ac adaptor.

I think it may be duff, It just powers out when playing anything, even with a different battery. I have tried a few flashes and different CF but still the same, as I said before, I will mess around for a week and if the same next week I will contact them.

    Cheers guys.
