Default UPA USB and 68HCP11A1 as 68HC11A8 old

    Hi,
I need help with UPA USB for unlock magneti marelli 8PXX.

I have MC68HCP11A1 to read with UPA. Elrasoft give me this picture and I try to put oscillator in 8000Khz like ECU quartz.

Elrasoft say to read this device as 68HC11A8 old.

So the soft always say that pin 7 (reset)=1,92V and don't read device.
    Where the problem ?

Lift reset pin from board and try. There should be 5 volts at the reset pin

    Default news

    Hi dimitar,
    Thanks for your help
68HCP11 is remove from board and connect like picture above.
For pin 7 that I lift, I take VCC from pin 9 and connect it at Reset.

    Near same result:
    device not respond

Voltmeter said pin 7 about 5V like pin 9

What should I do for read it ?

    Default Only UPA USB

    Hi Nicamarco,
I have only the last UPA USB.
This device is 1 year old and never use it.

I try to link pin 9 and 7 and read it => not responds
    I lift pin 7 => idem

Voltmeter is all green but UPA don't work. No error but device not responds. Clock is 8000Khz.

I verify all UUSP cable and solder on over the MCU.

Have an idea for read and write correctly this MCU ?

The problem is that you have tried to read the chip without an oscillator. It must have a 4-8MHz quartz + 10MOm resistor connected to XTAL EXTAL pins of the chip.
Best solder the chip back to the target boad and make connections as shown in the help.

    >68HCP11 is remove from board and connect like picture >above.
    >For pin 7 that I lift, I take VCC from pin 9 and connect it at >Reset.
This will damage Reset pin on the chip!

I had many times this problem reading IAW8P mcu`s, and with old UPA rs232 was sorted. I don`t know what is the cause.

i have a similar problem with same type of chip, tells me device not responding" i check connections and see that Reset is bad shows up with 1.74v. I could not read too with xprog-m when i put it in socket adapter which was why i tried UPA-USB now. Any luck?
