what functions do you lose by going with the Chinese DICE vice the full-up? Just wondering if there is anything in specific with the genuine DICE that makes it worth the extra $700 or so....Opinions?

Just be sure that the one you buy actually has the bluetooth module and the flash card hardware installed - many dont apparently.

You also dont get the DICE battery cable - so has to be powered by the OBD if you want to see the device from VIDA.


I have not figured out what the dongle is for however!

There was info from Volvo on not supporting ?Pirate DiCE?. If you do downloads, I would go genuine. You don?t want a cheapy to fail during a flash!

I have not ventured near downloads yet.... just diags and configuration.

Do you have a link to the Volvo document mentioning the clone DICE interfaces?

The other thing - I have not flashed an interface itself - I am sure Volvo could add future minimum spec requirements on the interface so only older VIDA versions will work.

guys i got a funny problem about vida dice..2008 and 2010a having same problem..
i been using 2008 suddenly ..some car..when doing diagnosis the software only can detect the front few ecu like engine gearbox n so..all the electronic ecu no response..duno why..anyone got any idea?

What exactly are you using? Genuine dice or China dice, VCT2000, Generic Pass-Thru?

I have checked with my local dealer as a complete dice will set you back about $1500

I am using 2010a (unlocked) for diag and non programing functions I have used my cardaq and clone dice, both have full function on all cars I have worked on. even 2010's.

I just program keys using 3 day subscription and 2010c used clone dice no problem.

CarDAQ plus should work on 99-up all functions, how old of a car have you used it on?

need help >< iroll ...my china vida dice 2010A ..duno why somtimes diagnosis only detect the front few ECU those back electonic ecu cannot detect..duno why..but when i reset the computer try remove and add the dice again .it work.no idea what is the thing that cause it..
