Just a quick follow-up to say It Worked! Even though I got a "Bad Magic Number" error message it didn't seem to matter.

Saved my ass here after a flash by ftp crashed half-way through last night leaving me with a dead dbox

Thanks for this guide, it worked a treat.

Just one point seeing as you have held our hand all the way through this.

At the end, once hyper terminal says done, it might be worth pointing out that you restart the dbox just incase like me you think the box is going to reboot by itself

This is in no way any criticism as without this guide I would have been up sh1t creek.

i am using this method to recover a box from a kein system error. will i need to transfer channel data to the box too? if so, can i use the hyperterminal to do this and also where would i be able to find a channel data file? it had a neutrino image on it before and i am now in the process of flashing it with lakys-sylas-2x.img. (so far so good)!!

    hi,
didn't work for me, followed all the steps - all seemed good and thought that it would work, however when I restarted the box the same problem remained - i.e LCD screen Stuck on 5 blocks , showing the software version/data etc.....

tried twice, and various other methods using IFA...if there is anything else I can try let us know, otherwise I think thats it for old dear, she'll be spending christmas in a dark, damp skip........alone
