HELP!!!! DREAMBOX NEWBIE

Hi all, ive just got a dreambox 500s, its got gemini on it preloaded, enigma i think, im really new to all this, but i had a technomate before on a motorised set-up, could someone please tell me how i can add satellites and channels successfully, do i have to do them all manually, i didnt have this problem with my technomte (5400s), please help!

if its a clone then you have to turn the motor manually (well sort of)

press Menu
press 6
press 2
press 3
press blue

then select which sat you want and use the arrows to turn the motor to that sat

note : you will need select a strong transponder or you'll be there forever.

You can download a satellite and channel llist for Enigma1 and ftp it to your box with Dreamboxedit Digital Kaos - Downloads - Dreambox edit . V3.0 You can change your bouquets around to suit your taste

hi thanks for the reply, i have a r232 cable is this what i need to do this,and are there any tutorials on how to transfer sat xlm files onto my dreambox?

If your box is set up via a router you can do it wirelessly. Dreamboxedit will ftp them to the correct folders,

so ive attached the dreambox to my router with a Ethernet cable... what do i do next?

Open up DBE go to options and enter your ip address username etc, save settings and close box. Open up ftp option and point to the directory of your settings and click send files to Dreambox. Thats all you need to do. If you want to change your bouquets you can do so before you ftp them

Hi Bulld0g, my box went down again and I did a factory rest and lost all my settings and bouquets, I am now trying to add a set of bouquets, also I have noticed I have gone back to Common Interface on the Blue Panel and I have lost desi-sensation which was on there before, I have done what you have said by putting in my IP address in DBE but have left the username as root as I'm not sure what the username is, I have then gone into File and FTP but I am having trouble adding all the files frm the Sky UK Bouquets v3.5 17th sep as it is only letting me select one file for some reason, can you tell me how I can add all these files and if I press send files to Dream Box this will FTP them over?

Further to my last post, if I am trying to select the main folder I am getting an error message stating: Contains no "service or lamedb" file

What box do you have ? Under options you can choose cable, satellite and Enigma 2, make sure you have selected the correct settings for your box

I have a DM500V8 box, I have chosen the satellite option but I am still getting the error message as before, it was all working fine until a few day ago when I did a factory rest as I coldnt get any stations to work, also after I put in my IP address I tested the connection and this was sucessful, so Im not too sure what I am doing wrong,

But in Bouquets there is just the Favorties showing (removed service) and none of the sports stationsor movie stations are working... have you any ideas please?

Hi Bulld0g, thank you for all your advice so far, I have restarted the box but when I go into Bouequets it just has the Favourites (tV) option but inside there it just says (GO UP), its not showing the removed channels any longer, but it doesnt seem to have added the bouquests either, I read Info which Devilfish has staed to do and I restarted enigma from the shutdown menu and then did the transponder scan which picked up the stations but still nothing is working and my bouquets are empty, the only stations which are still working are the FTA ones, would you kindly offer me some more help please, thank you,

Hi thanks for all your support... when i try a test with dedit and the box is says failed to connect to the dreambox with the ip i found via my router!
