Something is going on with this.
Herewith the result of reading. (With the VDO pin up)
Can not read the MCU. I believe that the calve is the need to lift the pin.
Xtal: 4MHz
Maybe UPA is unable to work with this MCU.

Your photo looks seriously bad. Unless the programmer is verified that it's not broken, Im not sure that we can do anything else. One thing you can do is running HW test 'Tools>Hardware test>self test' and see.

After several attempts, I decided not to waste more time.
Buy the ETL, and in 5 minutes had the eprom read and programmed.
I recommend it to everyone.

Yes ETL is the best solution,
sory i see just now you post,
you can read it with UPA,
but only desoldered from PCB
solder a 4 MHz quarz
and all wires like in UPA manual and is working
or can make an adapter,
in circuit i try and is not working...
maybe this help others ,

Hello. I also am having trouble reading this mic with the UPA. If you can read well, what pins should be lifted? I've tried without raising any pin and does not read well. The UPA is original.

connect only 4 wire , tx,rx,5volt and gnd no need to connect any other wires
read write all ok if the mcu is not secured
