1. It is not free because it is a completely different thing. The ones that are using the old system like before 2014 are still being added for free... The ones that are under a completely new function are in VN006

i am going to reserve judgement on VN006 , AlekN said the upcomming video will explain far more , so i await this video and the bug fixes that some have had from support when they come , still a little confused on whats what with vn003 and vn006 but alekn says all will become clear when video is released , so i wait in the hope that this is the case , as still unsure of it all .
If working then the free updates have been good in latest update , time will of course tell , but once working this on top of previous updates this year do give the value of ams far more value and worth having.

Whiskeyman - are you saying VVDI and smok have the same releases as VN006 or the free ones , and do they work ? if so vvdi gets more attractive at its cost , may have to add one along side avdi .

Here is what it is:
There are different cluster generations. New additions to the old system are free for all as they were before.
New system (NEW VDO type, JCI, Continental....) Go under VN006. I do not see it as hard. So free addition for the older type, like TIGUAN, Golf 6 and so on and PAID VN006 for the new generation of clusters. I hope this is clear enough.
Side note, FEM replacement is ready and will be added in a day or so.

Sorry but not even clear enough. Vn006 support immo 3 /immo 4 as you stated on abrites site, what is new on immo 3? Vn006 covers vehicles between 2003 and 2017,
that's why I do not understand when you say "new generation". New generation for me is the mqb platform eg, like Golf Mk7...
Or vn006 covers all that is in the vn003 + other cluster not supported on vn003?

well i eagerly await the video that AlekN says is going to make everything clearer , at which point if clearer as claimed il decide if im buying this VN006 licence or not .

sadly i missed the MLA show , so unaware of who was and wasnt busy at show , abrites i know had kap and keyprint selling it , and xhorse were also pushing VVDI and obdstar were also at show , not sure how either did at show .

what i do know is i have avdi and its served me well to date so on the whole i have trust in the licences i have despite the issues i have with their ethics and treatment of existing customers , but i have to admit that vvdi is looking like an attractive back up , despite reading the negatives on its own thread here , it seems both tools have their haters and their supporters , but im seriously considering one as a back up to avdi and for the functions i cant justify the cost of avdi licences for and the solid reports ive had about its bmw and vag capabilities .

when will this video be available to enlighten us ?

uncanny that carprog , vvdi and smok have the same updates at the same time , i suspect at a range of very different prices too , i suspect or hope abrites has tested and added to their release and ironed out bugs .

As far as i know, the new update in AVDI and VVDI is for the new generation of clusters before mk7.

So VN006 will cover does clusters.

as far as i did understand it, the new clusters 2014+ (not G7 platform) will be free for mileage update vn001, and free for immo related stuff vn003. But vn006 should be something new that the other tools not have and can make immo 3 and 4 systems all key lost situation without takeing apart the cluster. And Golf7 is immo5 system so not covered at all by Avdi (for now)

and the new clusters should be posible for all keys lost with vn003, but just with the old fashioned way of hack&slash :P

Its amazing how bad the Mercedes user manual is. I have no clue where to connect the fuse plug from the ZN051 box. Saw some videos but couldn't find the connection for the 2005 R171. Should I use fuse 65 in the SAM module? Don't even know if it has the same fuse layout as w211.
