    Thumbs up CrossEPG Full Sly EPG

    first of all i know there is a few of these thred's but this was buy far the easiest and its the most recent i think.

    i am using gemini 5.1 on a DM800 clone enigma 2 the most recent sgt flip flop's bouquets http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...ularly-163750/
    thanks for that sgt flip flop's
    Not sure what other versions it will work on.

    Download CrossEPG attched "enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg-oe1.6_0.6.0-svn-177_mipsel.ipk".

    Transfer with FTP to the /tmp directory.

    using the Gemini File Manager --> /tmp --> highlight the file "enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg-oe1.6_0.6.0-svn-177_mipsel.ipk" and press the Green Button (Install) to install.

    Reboot the box.

    Initial Configuration "CrossEPG" should appear under both menu>setup and under menu>plugins).

    with a compatible editor edit the file /usr/bin/enigma2.sh

    and before the line LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libopen.so.0.0 /usr/bin/enigma2

    add this line

    /usr/crossepg/crossepg_epgmove.sh

    enter menu>setup >crossepg>configure
    set storage device ...... Preferably hardisk (i had trouble with this )
    preferred lamedb ..... mainlamedb
    enable csv import ..... no
    force epg reload on reboot.....no
    download on tune......yes
    scheduled download .....every hour
    show as plugin ......yes
    show as extention ......yes
    (i think the only important one is storage device)

    exit configure

    and select menu>setup >crossepg>openTVproviders

    press yellow (download)
    then select your provider/sat i selected Sly uk open tv(astra2 on 28.2)

    In Gemini Blue panel --> settings --> EPG:
    Make sure the top EPG options are all off. In the bottom panel use:
    File cache ..... on
    change the filename ...... epg.dat
    location ..... /media/hdd
    Automatically save ..... off.

    YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THE CACHE FILE NAME TO EPG.DAT, otherwise it will not work.

    Restart again

    now goto menu>setup >crossepg>download now.
    it will run and retrive epg data

    Restart again

    now goto menu>setup >crossepg>download now.it will run and retrive epg data again.

    now you should have full epg

    check via epg or menu>infomation>EPG

    it shoud read something like this :
    116965 Events in 716 services
    EPG used 6.0mb memory

    if your using mutiple providers and sat's it will be larger.

    It will install and you can select USB in the configure menu. You will have to change the other file locations so it might work.

    you could try /usr/crossepg/crossepg.configure

    change the db_root=/media/thename of your USB device/crossepg

    you will have to create the crossepg folder (the one in green)

    Code:

    db_root=/media/hdd/crossepg
    lamedb=lamedb
    providers=skyuk_astra2_28.2|krkadoni_skyuk_xepgdb
    force_load_on_boot=0
    download_daily_enabled=1
    download_daily_hours=4
    download_daily_minutes=0
    download_daily_reboot=1
    download_tune_enabled=1
    download_manual_reboot=0
    download_standby_enabled=0
    last_full_download_timestamp=0
    last_partial_download_timestamp=0
    csv_import_enabled=0
    show_plugin=1
    show_extension=1

    those having problems with cross epg recognising your hard disk, then try this.

    take your hard disk out and reformat using ''gparted''
    in ext3 format.

    i had many isuues messing around with my new hd which i installed, then getting gemini to format for me didnt help a single bit!!!

    but after using gparted, i installed the drive back in again, and everything worked just fine.

    Thanks to all for your helpful replies reagarding this epg.
    I have an external hard drive connected to my dreambox and followed the instructions to install the epg.
    It installed fine and works perfect. But i have one issue, at night i turned dreambox and hard drive off at the mains, and this morning when I switched both of them on, i couldnt see hard drive on dreambox nor was there the epg.
    So i unmounted the hard drive and remounted it and i downloaded the epg again from the dreambox and now its working again as it should.
    Is it a bad idea to turn the mains off for the dreambox and hard drive at night?
    I dont want to keep mounting hard drive and downloading epg every morning.

    thanks for replies in advance.

    Jagga

    i had a few issues with gemini 5.1 at first, as it wud say hard drive was successfully mounted, but then realised on the epg settings ''no disk was found''

    so i took the the whole drive out, connected it to my pc via the pc sata connection, and formatted using GPARTED, in ext3 format.

    after that, installed it back in, gemini recognised it straight away, and worked perfect.

    i have had no issues losing epg after restarting the dm800 via the mains plug.

    Im new here - thanks for this guide.

    I am trying to get it working with a USB disk.

    The usb is mounted as media/hdd
    I receive following error when I navigate to plugins

    Code:
    some plugins are not available:SystemPlugins/CrossEPG(no module named
    CrossEPG.plugin)
    Any ideas?

    Edit. I have resolved the issue. I have downloaded the version that was attached to the first post. However, my epg looks different to the one displayed on the pictures and I only get 2 days worth of epg. Will dig deeper, but am pretty certain it has to do with my xml file.

    Thanks
