Cheers I merged the two posts together, as I know you were restricted to the amount of pics on one post.
We can keep them all on your first post and it will show all on one post.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams
Thanks m8, should sort of help people who are going to install a hard drive.
Cheers for merging both posts m8 !!
Struggling to install a 3.5 hdd, hopefully these pictures will help.
I'm also struggling with a 3.5" HDD install. Doesn't seem to fit...hopefully pics will give me a clue
should it not be a 2.5 sata drive not 3.5 hdd???
Let the others come after us, We welcome the chase
Turns out I have the exact same model as in the pics! handy.
3.5 is fine. I just was confused, doesn't fit like in a PC!
Yup 3.5, you can also fit a 2.5 using the brackets.
:-)
Which kind of hdd do I need? IDE, SATA I II III?
Thanks
SATA m8.

After purchasing a VU+ this week and looking at this i now know i need at 3.5" sata, i had a 2.5 caddy 320 gb external which may do, but have you seen the price of 1TB 3.5 Sata recently, and i can't even get a discount and i work for Cgate
Trying to fit my HDD now, Can't see how the brackets will work with a 2.5" HDD it will still move about even under the brackets is that correct?
The standard cradle that comes with the Duo is only suitable for 3.5" HDD's unless they have changed it since i got mine. The one that comes with the Uno however is suitable for both 2.5" and 3.5" drives.
I'll upload some photos of both on Thursday when i get a day off work to show the differences. ( i have to do a fresh install on both for testing purposes any way ).
