Default HOME MADE MEAT PUDDING MADE WITHOUT SUET

Put steak in pan barely covered with water put to one side, you will use the water from this to add to the pudding later.
making pastry: rub stork into flour till it resembles fine bread crumbs, add 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of water to bind add additional drops if required.
The pastry should be ready to roll on a floured surface and ready to divide into two.
Roll to a 8.5 inch square this should be big enough, trim edges to make straight.
Put half raw steak into centre put some raw onion also and crumble 1/2 oxo add salt, pepper seasoning as required.
Dab edge of pastry with water then fold top to centre, bring bottom edge over and pat gently to seal. turn side edge in 1/2" to seal and add dab of water.
Bring pudding gently upright and add 2 teaspoons of (pink) water from the steak pan.
fold remaining edge and seal with a dab of water carefully wrap pudding in "pudding rag" about 14" square i.e old piece of shirt or pillow case.
secure with about 3 or 4 safety pins and place into pan of boiling water repeat for additional puddings place lid on pan, cook for 4 hours making sure pan is topped up and is simmering gently at all times
4 hours is usually plenty remove from pan drain pudding and unwrap
Add veg or potatoes or even chips
when using the left over "pink" water cook a little onion in the water until onions are tender "10mins"
add bisto to suit or use oxo or gravy granules to suit yourself pour gravy over pudding and veg to suit....enjoy
